Книга «На надломі зросла сила» є фіксацією історій сили та спротиву жахливим, несправедливим подіям. Тому візуальне оформлення виступає тлом для розповідей, щоб не заважати поринанню читача в історії героїнь. І тільки подекуди дизайн дозволяє собі втрутитися у течію оповіді, щоб акцентувати увагу на окремих її фрагментах. Так, місцями текст збільшений або розміщений на темному фоні, а інколи взагалі перегорнутий на 90 градусів — так виділені фрагменти, які своїми подіями «перегортають» нашу свідомість.

Ілюстраціями стали композиції, виконані в техніці сканографії, які на рівні відчуттів відображають зміст тексту та ідею книги. Папір, тонкий та вразливий, пручається грубому впливу на нього — надломам та деформаціям, проявляє опір, міцність та силу. Контраст світлотіні віддзеркалює воєнну дійсність, а шорсткі текстури — грубість і нелюдяність подій.

Візуальна метафора надлому продовжується і в обкладинці: надломлений картон та нетипово, «протиприродно» загнутий наверх клапан, який втручається у назву і «надломлює» її. Але зазирнувши глибше, ми бачимо повне імʼя книги, сповнене смутку і сили. Сили жінок у війні.

The book “Strength has grown on the fracture” is a record of stories of strength and resistance to terrible, unjust events. Therefore, the design acts as a backdrop for the stories, so as not to interfere with the reader’s immersion in the heroines’ stories. And only in some places does the design allow itself to interfere with the flow of the story, in order to focus attention on its individual fragments. For example, in some places the text is enlarged or placed on a dark background, and sometimes it is even turned 90 degrees — this is how fragments are highlighted, which with their events “turn over” our consciousness.

The illustrations are compositions made using the scanography technique, which at the level of sensations reflect the content of the text and the idea of the book. The paper, thin and vulnerable, resists rough impact on it — fractures and deformations, and shows resistance, strength and power. The contrast of light and shade reflects the reality of war, and the rough textures reflect the rudeness and inhumanity of the events.

The visual metaphor of fracture continues in the cover: the broken cardboard and the unusually, “unnaturally” bent flap that interferes with the title and “breaks” it. But looking deeper, we see the full name of the book, full of sadness and strength. The Strength of Women in War.
